How it works

Five steps, and a record of each one.

This is the order of a DLI request. Each step tells you what happens, and what you must do.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Enter your email address. We send a six-digit code to it. Enter the code, then add your mobile number and confirm it with a second code. Accept the terms of use and the privacy notice to finish.

If your email already has an account, the code signs you in to that account. No new account is made.

  2. 2

    Confirm your identity

Before a request can start, you confirm your identity through a licensed provider. The provider shows its own consent screen. DLI does not take your Aadhaar number, and does not store it.

Status: not open yet. It opens once the provider is connected.

  3. 3

Choose a service and a document

Each service shows its rules before you start. Some documents are not accepted: a general power of attorney, a will or any testamentary disposition, a trust, and a negotiable instrument. DLI tells you before you begin.

Fees are shown as separate lines: the notary fee, stamp duty, any partner fee, and DLI's platform fee.

  4. 4

    Follow each step

Your request moves through the steps set by the rules of the service. A notary appointed under the Notaries Act, 1952 performs any notarial act. DLI does not perform it, and does not choose the notary for you.

Stamp duty is paid through licensed stamp partners. DLI does not sell stamps.

  5. 5

    Keep your record

Your dashboard will show each request, its status, the record of each step, and your notifications. Changes to your mobile number or email are made through support.
